Just ask me how much I loved this book. It was author's first release and my first read of hers. After reading the description, I snapped that puppy up ASAP. Personally, my favorites are still this one and follow-up book CONFESSED, but I do appreciate all 5 books I've read so far in their own right.

Not sure what I was expecting from a new author, but certainly not that she would be this good with story and characters. And who doesn't love the forbidden territory of a studen-teacher love story, especially in college where both are adults and anything goes? The descriptions, the snappy pacing, the smart dialogue. Mmm, mmm, mmm. Bonus -- it's not likely there are many real professors remotely as sexy as Professor Ben ... at least not in my experience. What could be hotter than the way student NAOMI first meets him at a masked ball as strangers, and then their incredibly sexy, anonymous interlude could make a girl faint dead away. Only to find out he's her professor and lives downstairs. OMG. The looks, the touches, the sneaking around... More than once I know I held my breath while reading because I was sure they'd get caught. Don't care that he's so much older, he's still not old. The conflict is that their lives intersect in every way, which makes carrying on what they shared at the ball more than difficult. But, I was all-in for their covert meetings, consensual sex, and being just as interesting outside the bedroom as inside. It didn't feel formulaic or just another replica romance told many times before. For a moment, it made me relive grad school and daydream about a Prof Ben of my own. If only.

Whatever may have been lacking in a first-time writing effort, Ms. Rendell made up for in steamy chemistry and much appreciated dual POV. Yes, she's improved even more with practice, but I was not at all disappointed in this virgin read.

Wow, everything about this story sucked me in and would not let me go. From the first meeting to every single stolen moment. The romantic elements that were in each page. How deeply Ben worshipped Naomi, how fiercely to her soul that she loved him back. To believe in nothing and find that everything that was missing was found in the eyes of another. Oh Ben what a revelation. His whole world knocked off his axis. By one young but extraordinary old soul his beautiful Naomi. If I had one thing to gripe about its only the way it ended. I so badly needed more of everything but most of all more of their future. But thankfully Confessed is Lucy's story and surely I'll see Ben and Naomi there. Diving in very soon.

The book starts out hot, there’s no doubt about it and the chemistry between Ben & Naomi is off the charts. This is definitely a May/December romance since the hero is nearly twice the age as the heroine and I loved that aspect of it. The story didn’t necessarily feel taboo because the story takes place in a college setting and both main characters are of age, but the nosiness (and overreach) of one of the faculty members makes it feel as though it is.

I liked both Ben & Naomi’s points of view; they both lent a lot to the story and made it feel balanced as a whole. I really liked the story and would have given it five stars on chemistry and heat alone, however as I got to the end of it I thought more and more about it and realized that there are several plot holes and unresolved issues that made the ending unsatisfying. We never really learn much about Ben’s backstory (he lost his brother young, but later mentions his brother’s toddler?) and that lack of resolution makes the ending feel rushed.

This could easily be a five star read if it went under the editorial microscope and was fine-tuned just a bit more.
Holy moly, this book is smoking hot fantasy fulfilling from the start. It is well written and gripping and currently FREE on . Grab it while you can. It was so good, that when I got to the end I turned to the beginning to read it again. Sigh-worthy.

I don’t usually seek out erotica, but this author hit all the right notes to satisfy the romance lover in me so that it didn’t FEEL like erotica. If you like sex with a bit of kink, well-written, likeable characters, high tension, emotion, loving feelings, then this book is for you.

The professor/student story-line is not cheesy or sleazy in any way. I usually don’t like romances where the basis for the love is sex. This is an exception. It came down to the writing. The sex here was written in a trusting, safe, loving and HOT way, and was integral to the growing love between two intelligent and good people I cared about. This made their sexy story special.

What a great introduction to this author. I will seek out more of her work.
