Four popular paranormal authors offer up four sexy stories connected to their long running series - so lots of fun for fans - and most are nice little samplers for those looking for a new series to try. There's no dancing in the moonlight but there's lots of supernatural delight. In the order I read them (I am such a rebel:)
************************************************************************
***** G.A Aiken - "Dragon On Top" (Dragon Kin ) -- 4 stars (liked it)
*************************************************************************
Bram Merciful has lusted after the blood thirsty Ghleanna and her lovely scars for almost a century, but when Ghleanna task to protect Bram on a very important journey runs a fowl of some traitorous dragons, Bram's going to show them all that he is really not all that merciful after all.
With a fair amount of her trademark insane humor (and just a touch of her trademark crass too), this is a great little taste of Dragon Kin series. I love that the 'blood and guts' heroine has hidden depths in the sneaky strategy department and the cerebral hero shows no mercy in the bedroom. The start of the story was a bit confusing since there are so many character with weird names and I was struggling to remember who we've met before, but I was soooo excited to get to see another of the dragon species.<> The story falls time wise between shorts "Flames and Chains" from About a Dragon and "Can't Get Enough" from Everlasting Bad Boys, Dragon on Top stars the aunt of the dragon siblings from the series, with appearances by the grandparents and the parents from the other prequel shorts
**************************************************************************
***** Larissa Ione's "Vampire Fight Club" (Demonica) -- 4 stars (liked it)
**************************************************************************
A dying shifter goes undercover to expose the supernatural fight club that cost her brother his life, but catches the eye of her jaded vampire boss
I enjoyed this short, which works fine as a standalone, but Ione's Demonica/Four Horsemen fans will appreciate cameos by the UGH crew.
*************************************************************************************
*****Alexandra Ivy's "Darkness Eternal "(Guardians of Eternity) -- 4 stars (liked it)
*************************************************************************************
When cursed vampire Uriel is sent to rescue a woman held captive for centuries, he discovers the mate he must not claim - the mate for whom he will walk through hell to protect
While I like this story and it worked fine as a short, it had all of the makings of a really good longer novel (no Levit though) so I would have loved more. <> Connected to events from Ivy's short in "Taken by Darkness" from Yours for Eternity this short follows on the tails of Devoured by Darkness.
***************************************************************
***** Jacquelyn Frank's "Kane" (Nightwalkers) -- 3 stars (ok)
***************************************************************
Having broken a taboo, the aftermath of Kane's touch nearly took his mate's life, and now he will pay the price - suffering the sensual demands of Samhain, chained close enough to share his healing energy with his comatose mate but unable to fully claim her to relieve his torment.
Frank takes a very sexy step back to the first book in her series to Corrine and Kane's imprinting, though it doesn't add much to the pair personalitywise - the story is pretty much an extended sex scene - but since Mind Demon Kane is explaining his world to Corrine who still believes that she is human, it is a refresher on the Nightwalker world in preparation for Frank's upcoming Adam (who is mentioned briefly in passing). This would work as a standalone but there is not enough story here to give those new to Nightwalkers a real feel for the series.

Supernatural Larissa Ione Alexandra Ivy Jacquelyn Frank G A Aiken 9781420109887 Books Reviews
A trend has been for 3-5 established authors getting together and publishing novella length stories set in 'worlds' already written. I will leave the plot summaries to others as well as the publisher's blurb (too easy for me to give spoilers in the shorter works...), but I would like to point out what I think makes a good entry into this kind of publication.
First, are the authors GOOD? By that I mean is their writing well done enough that they can get a full feel in terms of plot/emotions/characters all compressed into a shorter work. By using characters (new or otherwise) they do have a little easier time, but still it can be difficult to make the reader care when there is less time to set the story.
Second, are the stories good? Kind of the off shoot from number 1...not only are the authors skilled, but do they actually pull it off? Do I care about the characters? Do I care what happens?
Third, if it's a series I've read does the story fit in the context of the series, have the same feel, maybe even pull in a few loose ends?
Fourth, if it's a series I've not read, does the story make sense to me without having read the others? And more importantly, does it make me want to go read the rest of them?
Fifth, are all or most of the stories good enough to give satisfactory answers to the above? Reading an anthology where you only enjoy one or two of the stories is just a disappointment!
Sooo, how did this one do? Of the 4 authors/series I'd only read Larissa Ione's Demonica and Lords of Deliverance series (and somehow I hear banjos when I read that title) which are connected. Her entry here involves a minor character from her Demonica series, but also brings in some history of her Deliverance books (ne-ne ne-ne ne-ner), but we do see some old favorites. I really enjoyed this and felt like it was very well done and loved how it fit with her other works. A+!
Next, I also very, very much enjoyed G. A. Aiken's entry. I've read her work as her alter ego Shelley Laurentson (Magnus Pack, Pride series) and loved those. Now I've had a taste of the GA Aiken/dragons I now have yet another series to add to the top of my 'read this next' list.
The Jacquelyn Frank and Alexandra Ivy stories were also most excellent and also have piqued my interest in the rest of their books as well, just a hair less than Aiken's, but not by much--and others may have different tastes of course.
In other words this anthology met all my requirements--which might actually be a problem because that just added a ton to my reading list.
Highly Recommended!!

Usually I do not purchase an Anthology because a reader is lucky to get even one story that's actually well developed and good along with three or four that are not worth the time trying to read them. I actually ENJOYED all four of the stories!
My favorite was Dragon on Top by Aiken as I love all of the dragon series. For those who don't enjoy sarcasm or humor in your paranormal reading - you won't enjoy Aiken. Her dragons and shifters are filled with egotistical creatures with sharp tongues and wits.
Vampire Fight Club by Larissa Ione is related to her Demonica series concerning the demon world. This was a fully developed short story that added to that series and her next which I also enjoyed. But as the series does deal with a lot of violence this may turn off some readers. I happened to enjoy the series and can't wait for the next novel.
Darkness Eternal by Alexandra Ivy was a new author to try out. I am not familiar with the Guardians of Eternity but I'm interested in going back and reading more. I have no problem with the "mate means love" concept as some others do.
Kane by Jacqueln Frank was also very well developed and I enjoyed it too. In fact, I liked this short story better than some other full novels because Jacqueln Frank tends to become some what repetitive in her full novels and this was too short for that.
With that said - this was one anthology that was worth the price and time. Every story was fully developed and enjoyable.
